Wet weather weekend’s and COVID-19 lockdowns have put a hold on football in recent weeks but we are back and ready to go for the weekend! Here is the full preview of what is in store!
Burleigh vs Musgrave- Friday 7pm @ Pizzey Park
Burleigh will be hoping to get closer to a top four spot when they host Musgrave at Pizzey Park on Friday night. After the two sides played out a thrilling round one game, the Bulldogs will be hopeful for the same result with less drama this time around.
Southport vs Broadbeach- Saturday 4pm @ Ashmore Village Park
Southport and Broadbeach will both know the importance of their fixture in the run in for the top four when they lock horns in the early kick off. The Warriors sit in the top four currently with Broadbeach close behind so a win here for either side could put their finals run in a good position.
Nerang vs Palm Beach- Saturday 6pm @ Bob Jeffrey Field
In one of the biggest matches of the season, Nerang and Palm Beach do battle with both sides in red hot form coming into the match. Palm Beach have quietly strung results together which sees them right in the mix towards the top end of the ladder with Nerang also chasing Surfers closely behind.
Runaway Bay vs Kingscliff- Saturday 7pm @ Runaway Bay Field
Kingscliff will know it is a must win for them against Runaway Bay if their finals hopes should stay alive when the two sides meet in the late kick off. The Bayhawks will take positives out of their last match against Broadbeach where they were narrowly defeated and know that they are capable of getting a result should they play at their best.
Robina vs Surfers- Sunday 3pm @ Robina Common
Surfers will be looking to maintain the gap at the top of the table when they take on Robina City at Robina Common. The home side haven’t had an ideal season but a good performance against one of the top teams in the competition could give them a boost heading into some big games in the next few weeks.
Legends vs Musgrave- Friday 8:15pm @ Keith Hunt Park
The closest rivals out of any competitions on the Gold Coast do battle on Friday night with a draw being the previous result in round one. Musgrave have strung some results together and will be hopeful of adding to the loss tally for Legends in 2021.
Runaway Bay vs Pacific Pines- Saturday 3pm @ Runaway Bay Field
Runaway Bay and Pacific Pines do battle in Super Saturday down at the Bayhawks in the 3pm kick off. The visitors will be confident of getting a result against a Bay team who have struggled throughout the 2021 campaign.
Nerang vs Tallebudgera- Saturday 5pm @ Glennon Park
In the match of the round for the Coast League, both Nerang and Tallebudgera are in fine form at this point of the season which should make a fantastic hit out between the two sides. With both sides towards the top end of the table, this should prove to be a fantastic match up.
Palm Beach vs Tweed- Saturday 5pm @ Duncan McKenna Field
Tweed will be hoping to bounce back from their recent results when they take on Palm Beach away from home. If Tweed are to secure a finals berth this is a must win for the Marlins and they will feel confident in getting the job done.
Ormeau vs Mudgeeraba- Saturday 5pm @ Norfolk Park
Mudgeeraba have quietly crept up the table and will feel confident of keeping their run alive when they take on Ormeau at Norfolk Park. The Wallabies have snuck under the radar and got the result they were wanting to be in second position heading into the round.
